This is the volcano that was blowing its top off every now and then. There was an earthquake east of us that we never felt while we were in Alaska. You see the melting glaciers further down in the post.
We are are staying with Miss Daisy’s cousins in Kasilof, AK for the week. It is on the Kenai Peninsula, will go traveling around Seward and Homer after the vacation traffic leaves. Since hitting Anchorage and traveling south I feel like I'm back in the lower 48, too many vehicles here, I enjoyed the desolate highways up north. Oh and shortly after arriving here, Sarah Palin resigned as Governor.

I know it has been awhile since you have read an email from me, can't seem to get pictures attached due to weak WIFI. But then not many seemed to miss them I guess.
I can only send a few pics at a time so I'll try and catch up with them as soon as I can. Hiked a glacier today and saw the Harding Icefield that feeds the glaciers in the Kenai Fjords.
Yesterday could have read motorcyclists from TN die in head on collision with pickup passing illegally. Thanks again to those who are praying for us as I missed the truck by inches. (Griz - 6 vs Pickup - 0) I have over 79,000 miles on the bike now which is almost 8,000 miles for the month that I have been gone. Wow have we done a lot. Back in Talkeetna, AK we flew around Mt. McKinley and in Seward we took a dinner cruise out to a glacier where we saw Otters, Seals, Sea Lions, Puffins, Bald Eagles, and other cool birds, Humpback whales, Porpoises that looked like small Orcas (Killer Whales), and a Salmon Shark. Never thought I would see a shark this far north.
Volcano Redoubt spewed smoke most of the time we were their, we finally got to eat some cheap salmon only because we knew someone that had caught it. I was kinda shocked at the price if you got salmon or Alaskan crab legs at a restaurant, very expensive. Nothing like when I visited Maine where you could get Lobster for $5 or $6 a pound verses what we normally pay back home. I was expecting the same treatment when in Alaska. The only deal was when you shopped at a WalMart where the prices were the same as in the lower 48. We were always in some fire danger as we watched it get closer to us each day we stayed here.
On the way to Homer, AK we drove the farthest west in N. America when we passed through Anchor Point, AK. We drove the farthest north when we went up to Prudhoe Bay, AK. Not sure if Key West, FL is the farthest south? If it is, I've done that on a Goldwing too.
We are now camping in Anchorage, AK Starting our final sight-seeing adventure out of The Last Frontier.
Well better send this before the battery dies
